This time I wanna show you a few of my Christmas-oriented beauty candies. It's the Essie 2012 mini winter collection in four amazingly cute shades: "Leading Lady", "Where's My Chauffeur?", "Beyond Cozy" and "Snap Happy". Of course I don't have to tell you how much I love their creativity at naming the nail polishes, do I? The collection is all about guts, glory and glamour.
Because no collection is complete without a little glitter, Essie came up with the Leading Lady - a deep berry/wine base colour, filled with red and fuchsia micro glitter. It's a slightly thick formula with an odd gelatinous texture and it goes beautifully on top of Snap Happy shade (of course it can also be worn on it's own).
Where's My Chauffeur? This is a really bright, wintery shade that takes me back to my childhood days studying the snowflakes from behind my bedroom window. A truly stunning aqua hue, it also happens to be paradoxically vivid and muted at the same time, which is a really interesting effect. It's also totally self-levelling and insanely glossy at the finish, completely non-staining. Though this is a winter shade I can still totally see myself wearing it during the summery months.
Finally, my favourite shade of this collection - Beyond Cozy. This one reminds me of so many things: new years, Christmas sparkly decorations, disco balls, ... It's just such a versatile nail polish that can be used to give that extra pop to almost every outfit or situation. It's composed of various sized chucks of silver glitter and is incredibly easy to apply. It took three very thin coats to get the completely opaque and extreme shimmery finish. Perfect for the new years eve!
Overall, a fabulous collection. Essie always does a marvelous job with their seasonal collections and this one was no exception. It allows us to travel down the roads of both light and dark and not feel one ounce of guilt! One thing I also love is the wide brush they decided to put on all the polishes, which makes the application even easier and more smooth. Viva il Essie!
Hope you all had a great Christmas! Mine was cozy and sweet with the best company out there - my family. Our doggie Maxim (also known as Santa's little helper) is sending you all some love, kisses and best wishes for 2013!
