When it comes to face care and products I get a bit obsessed. Well, I actually become a real maniac. I do my skincare routine accurately every morning and evening and also during the day - there sure is no better feeling than to clean that make-up off your face and freshen your skin, isn't it?! Because my skin was pretty insane when I was younger (acne, acne, acne), I raided trough all the possible products out there. I'm currently sticking to four products which I absolutely love and they leave my skin feeling clean, they don't give me any breakouts (ignoring the icky PMS days) and the feeling after using them is just divine.
The first one that I adore is the REN Mayblossom T-Zone Control Cleansing Gel, which I repurchased for the third time. The only thing I regret about this cleansing gel is that I didn't tried it earlier. It's a balancing, antibacterial face cleanser for skin that is prone to oiliness and breakouts, particularly in the T-zone. It keeps the skin clean and not dry at all and I think it's perfect for the morning and as the last thing before going to sleep. Because it's still a bit pricey I alternately purchase Avéne Cleanance Soap-Free Gel, which is also great, but a tiny bit more aggressive. These two cleansers are send from heaven, I tell ya.
After the cleansing gel I'd usually use the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Toner. It's a micro-exfoliant toner which helps to instantly unblock and reduce pore size. This one does not sting or burn my face like some others toners out there. I also find it perfect for those bad skin days when all of a sudden your face is full of imperfections and little evil pimples. It's perfect for oily and acne prone skin and not so much for the sensitive or dry type.
As you can see my Effaclair toner is at its bitter end, so I decided to try out another one from Avéne - the Cleanance Anti-Shine Purifying Lotion/Toner. I only used this a couple of times but can already tell that's gonna be a keeper. It purifies the skin and tightens the pores without stinging or irritating sensation. It also contains a mattifying powder, which helps to absorb excess sebum and leaves the skin shine-free. It smells and feels absolutely divine too. I'd normally use it after the cleansing gel and as the last thing before going to bed. I find it works best in combination with the Cleanance cleansing gel.
And last but not least, the famous Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution. I can't say enough good things about this one. It's formulated for sensitive and normal to dry skins and it gently cleans the face and eyes - it removes water-resistant make-up so well! I like to use it in the evening for removing the eye make-up or just in the middle of the day to refresh and tone-up my skin. It's also for those who just want to climb into bed as quickly as possible - you'll be able to reasonably clean your face in just one step. Definitely the best product of 2012, this one.
Which ones are your favourites in the cleansing department? I'd love to know, so please do tell!
