THE LIPS FACTOR

Here I am, representing two of my favourite winter lipstick shades. I believe I can say that I was never the one wearing "in-your-face" lipsticks, not even was I the classy, bold lips kinda gal. I still feel my best when I wear those subtle, light shades with a hint of shimmer. You know - your natural lips but slightly better ... Ok, who am I kidding - I feel my best with only a thick layer of lip balm on. But since I'm in my mid-twenties and have to show some kind of seriousness (even if just trough the colour of my lipstick), I opted for some nice deep and rich coloured ones.

The first pick is Chanel Rouge Allure in the shade of "Coromandel". It's a fiery orange-red with enough depth and richness from the red tinge to keep it from looking neon. It's also a highly pigmented and moisturizing lipstick formula which sits comfortably on the lips. Its very rich full colour coverage is finished with a natural, satiny sheen. It applies evenly without effort, although I like to use a lipstick brush while applying it. I believe I don't need to say that the packaging is head-to-toe luxury; it has a black lacquered metal exterior case that closes with a very satisfying click. I feel quite posh when I'm wearing it! 

We've all heard about M.A.C. "Plumful", yes? Well, I couldn't get my hands on it, so I had to get something different - preferably with the word "plum" in the name. And I got it! Revlon ColorBurst "Plum" is a gorgeous plummy wine colour that is great for the fall and winter months. It has this beautiful metallic finish and looks very elegant and sophisticated on the lips. Its texture doesn't feel overly gritty or chunky so you can apply it quite smoothly. It's also very moisturizing and intense. The only disadvantage is the little shimmers in the product - they can make your every single lips imperfection rather visible. You need to have your lips in perfect condition for rocking it with this one (think scrubs and heavy moisturizers). 

So that's about it from moi for now. The "lips edition" will continue in the spring time, when I'll be on the hunt for some new, more lively and pastel shades. Which are your favourite lipsticks at the moment? Do share!
